After making an impression in the US with the Oscar nominated Lagaan Aamir Khan was flooded with several international offers. And mind you the roles were not the kind that just required him to an extra. But they were lead characters ones where apna Bhuvan would have to play Italian or French characters.
Imagine their astonishment when Aamir said he was not well versed with reading Hindi though he happened to be the biggest star of the Hindi film industry. And this took the casting agents by surprise. But forget them this has even come as a shock to his filmi folks who have always thought Aamir to be a perfectionist who could read Hindi like a school master!
